Homestart is a local charity that supports local parents with young children to make the most of what can be a very challenging time for families. Through a group of local, trained volunteers - all of whom have experience of being parents themselves - the team help parents to grow in confidence, to strengthen their relationships with their children and to connect with other people going through similar experiences. The service offers a friendly, non-judgemental environment - and a host of practical experience and knowledge.

Homestart is having a 'solve the mystery' picnic evening on 20th June to raise money for its work. The Lion & Unicorn Players will perform "Murder and Umbridge Farm" - a mystery for everyone to solve. There will be prizes for solving the mystery and for the best outfits.

Adults and children are welcome, you need to bring your own picnic - and drinks and puddings will be available to buy on the night.
