How to find or move home
Hampshire Home Choice
As a social landlord, we don't hold our own waiting list but work with local councils to make sure that any available housing goes to the people in the greatest need. We are a member of Hampshire Home Choice which allows housing applicants from the relevant areas (including current social housing residents) to bid for a home.
To bid on available properties, you need to have an active Hampshire Home Choice application. You can get help on joining the list through the relevant local authority.

Exchanging Homes with Someone Else
A mutual exchange is where you swap properties with somebody else. This can really help you to find a home that suits you more quickly as it doesn't have much involvement from other agencies.
All social landlords have to offer ways in which you can get access to a mutual exchange scheme. Information about our scheme is here https://www.homeswapper.co.uk/ and you can get lots more information about the practical steps to moving in our Frequently Asked Questions and our handy guide.
Please note that you cannot mutually exchange if you owe any monies to the association. You cannot mutually exchange if you have an assured shorthold tenancy or are within the starter period (initial 12 months) of a starter tenancy. You may be able to mutual exchange after your starter tenancy has been converted at the end of the 12-month period, providing there are no breaches of tenancy.
All mutual exchange applications are subject to the incoming tenant meeting the affordability criteria, satisfactory references, property inspections and safety checks. We ask that the incoming tenant meets the housing need for the property.
For further information please contact your Housing Officer or email us on admin@phahomes.co.uk. You can download the application form here. Mutual Exchange Application Form
Internal transfers
PHA Homes can sometimes accommodate existing tenants who are looking to move to a new house for a valid reason, such as to downsize or for medical reasons. If you are an existing tenant and your circumstances have changed, call our Housing Team to discuss this further on 01730 263589.
