Helping Hand Fund
We know that everyone struggles sometimes - with finances, with practicalities or with things like health and family issues.
At PHA, we set aside a small fund each year to allow us to provide a helping hand. It is mostly used to deal with urgent financial issues related to your home - like your cooker failing when you can't afford to replace it - but we are always open to using it more creatively.
Assistance from the fund is assessed case by case and will involve you discussing the issue you are facing with one of our team. This is a confidential discussion and - because funds are limited - it will involve looking at your overall financial position and sometimes helping you to make a budget. We don't offer reductions in our rent or service charges - you will still need to pay those.
Funds are limited each year and once the fund it used up, we are unable to offer any new grants until the following year. We do not keep a list or 'carry forward' any applications. However, if you have applied and been unsuccessful, we will always let you know.
Our 'helping hand' approach is not just about the fund - it is a way of operating. As a landlord, we want to be helpful and supportive to our residents - so if you are facing an issue or problem, please do speak to us. If we can't help directly, we can often point you in the direction of someone who can.
